Understanding IAQ (Indoor Air Quality)
Indoor Air Quality is a broad topic. In the last several years scientific evidence has proven the Indoor Air in homes and buildings can sometimes offer a greater Health Risk and be more polluted than the outside air, even when tested in a industrialized setting.
Many factors have to be considered when you or anyone in the building start having symptoms that could be related to Mold Exposure or other Pollutants, many times it is referred to as a (Sick Building Syndrome).
Mold is the most common concern of indoor air problems. When Mold grows inside a building the spores become concentrated in the air and can cause severe problems when inhaled in large numbers. There are many types of mold some are more dangerous than others, also some people are more sensitive to mold exposure and have more severe reactions.
"Bad" Indoor Air can also be caused by many other unacceptable levels of pollutants such as Fungi, Bacteria, Gasses, Dust, Paint, and industrial by-products.
Testing should be done if any occupants after spending time in the building complains of Headaches, Asthma or Flu like symptoms, Dry Hacking Cough, Respiratory or Breathing Problems, Skin Rashes, Nose Bleeds, or other symptoms that lead to a general Feeling Of Depression.
In many cases we find the problems can be solved by a cleaning and removal of dust and debris from the air conditioner unit and duct system.
We can perform the proper type of testing to Alert, Identify, and Advise you what your sources of contamination are.
We can also recommend how to resolve or remedy the problem areas in the building.
